5 Fun & Unforgettable Fall Festivals In and Around Seattle (2024)

September is the time of year to embrace change. It’s a sad goodbye to summer, and a sweet hello to fall.

However you view this month, it still holds some of the best opportunities to be outdoors. The humidity has (hopefully) faded, yet temperatures are typically comfortable enough to walk around without a bulky jacket.

As locals, we believe the right way to spend this season is by exploring Seattle fall festivals. This means outdoor music concerts, pumpkin picking, and tasting seasonal flavors.

In our exciting roundup below, we found five popular 2024 fall festivals near Seattle that are more than worth marking on your calendar

The Spectacular Cider Summit Seattle

Four glasses of cider for The Spectacular Cider Summit Seattle

When: September 6th (3pm - 8pm) to September 7th, 2024 (12pm - 5pm)

Where: South Lake Union Park, Seattle, WA

Details: Picture this. It’s one of those blissfully sunny and refreshing early fall days and you have a crisp, cool glass of cider in your hands.

That’s what you can expect at the Cider Summit Seattle, a two-day festival featuring more than 150 selections from 40 top-notch cider, fruit and mead spirit, and cocktail producers. Before the festival begins on Saturday, you can opt for an extra hour of curated charcuterie tasting. Just be sure to grab your ticket as spots are limited.

And, you’re not the only one who deserves a relaxing day. You can bring your dog to the exclusive, treat-packed dog lounge.

PorchFest Edmonds

When:  September 7th, 2024 (1pm - 6pm)

Where: Edmonds, WA

Details: Looking for a low-key event? Stroll through the streets of Edmonds to hear from local upcoming musicians and spoken word artists. Instead of a traditional stage, performers will be playing in backyards, alleyways, front yards and of course, porches. This event is completely free, and truly celebrates the creativity of this charming city.

Since you’ll likely be walking around in the late afternoon, dress in transitional layers like this comfortable purple men’s quarter zip or this breathable and lightweight women’s half zip pullover.

Fremont Oktoberfest

When: September 20th - September 22nd, 2024 (Times vary from 12pm - 11pm)

Where: Fremont, WA

Details: This festival is living proof you don’t need to hop on a plane to Germany to experience a true Bavarian bash. The unforgettable Fremont Oktoberfest is back for another year, when you can munch on iconic pretzels, and hold a stein filled with craft beer from local brewers, all while rocking legendary lederhosen.

For a little exercise, you can participate in the stein hoisting competition, where you put your muscles to the test by holding a stein for as long as possible.

And while Halloween is around the corner, you can get pumpkin inspiration from the Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest, where artists will put their skills to the test. Just watch out for pumpkin guts.

The 20th Annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival

When:  October 4th and October 5th, 2024 (4pm - 10pm)

Where: Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, Seattle, WA

Details: Get ready to see a massive pumpkin you won’t find at your local farm. At the annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival, which is easily one of the most fun fall festivals in Seattle, you can see a several-hundred-pound pumpkin carved out, and filled with pumpkin beer. While that’s definitely a sight to see, you can also participate in the costume or pie-eating contest, or simply enjoy live music and local food trucks.

All for a good cause, this event will go toward The Vera Project, a nonprofit that supports community-driven music and art programs. This event is a local favorite, so grab your tickets soon.
