The NFL announced that there will be three preseason games per team prior to the start of the season except for the Houston Texans and Chicago Bears who will play 4 games. The NFL Preseason starts on August 1 with the Hall of Fame Game.
When is the final week of the 2024 NFL Preseason?
The 2024 NFL Preseason will consist of three games for most teams, with two teams playing four games. The schedule is as follows:
- Week 1: August 1 with the Hall of Fame Game
- Week 2: August 8 to August 11
- Week 3: August 15 to August 18
- Week 4: August 22 to August 25
Games and Players to Watch in the 2024 NFL Preseason

Preseason Week 1
The Hall of Fame game isn’t one to miss this year. The game was between the Chicago Bears and the Houston Texans. As the Number 1 pick in the 2024 draft, Caleb Williams of the Bears will have his first chance to show why he was chosen here.
Preseason Week 2
Heading into the second week, you’ll have all teams heading into some big games to watch including the Falcons vs the Dolphins and the Patriots vs the Commanders.
The biggest question answered this week will be a big determining factor for the rest of the season. Can Will Levis build on his rookie season as the Titans starter against the tough 49ers defense?
Preseason Week 3
By week three, you’ll see some pretty awesome matchups as teams bend and flex to show what they have to offer, probably getting a better idea of who their starters will be. We’re watching several games this week including the Vikings vs the Browns and the Steelers vs the Bills to see who will start at QB for the Steelers.
The big question to answer this week, though, comes in the Washington Commanders vs the Miami Dolphins. Can Jayden Daniels actually secure the job as the starting quarterback for Washington?
Preseason Week 4
By the fourth week, there will be competition for those final positions to watch for, and some of the best match ups include the Giants vs the Jets and the Cowboys vs the Chargers.
We’re looking for big answers this week. Will Marvin Harrison Jr. prove to be as good of a pro as expected for the Cardinals? There are a lot of speculations about this one, as he has big shoes to fill following his Hall of Fame father.
