1. Mama Mia: Here We Go Again (2018)
There is nothing like a classic film that comes back for a sequel 10 years later and is just as good as the first. This feel-good summer movie is set in Greece and will have you crying and laughing at the same time. If you haven’t seen the first Mama Mia, you are in for the ultimate double movie night.
2. Clueless (1995)
Now while Clueless technically did not take place in the summer, its Beverly Hills setting will give you that summertime feel. This coming of age film will have you falling out of your chair in laughter as you watch a preppy, rich, popular high school student that befriends the new girl and gives her a makeover that she regrets. If you love romantic comedies, you will love Clueless.
3. Jaws (1975)
Looking for more of a thriller to watch this summer? Jaws will be sure to have you hiding under your blanket, and you may avoid the ocean on vacation this year. This classic film is set in the summer in a calm resort town, and before you know it, things take a turn for the worst. This summer film is known for its suspenseful plot, and is a crowd favorite.
4. The Sandlot (1993)
This movie is great for the whole family, and gets you in the mood for summer fun and baseball season. The Sandlot includes a group of kids that obsess over the sport of baseball, and they end up running into an issue with a dog that gets a hold of a very special, Babe Ruth signed ball.
If you are looking for a newer movie to watch, we highly recommend watching King Richard. With tennis being a summer sport, this biopic of the two record holding athletes, Serena and Venus Williams, is about how their father helped them chase their dreams of becoming professional tennis players. This summer movie is a tear jerker so bring your biggest box of tissues.
